Detailed itinerary of your 7 Days Uganda safari without Gorillas

Day 1: Drive from Kampala/Entebbe to Murchison Falls National Park

Have an early morning breakfast and after, pick up by your safari leader ready for transfer to Murchison Falls National Park in Northwestern Uganda. Drive via Kampala-Gulu highway about 4-5 hours’ drive and you will have a stop visit at Ziwa rhino sanctuary for rhino tracking. Lunch will be served to you at Kabalega Dinners then you proceed to the park a home to big game, diversity of antelopes and powerful Murchison Falls. Dinner and a night stay will be at the lodge.

Day 2: Game drive & launch cruise in Murchison Falls National Park

Have the best of your breakfast and after, go for a morning game drive via the Northern side of Murchison Falls National Park. Expect to spend 2-3 hours which also let you enjoy view of African bush elephants, leopards, lions, buffaloes, birds, antelopes, Rothschild giraffes and others. Drive back to be served lunch and have some relaxation.

At 2:00pm, your next activity will be a launch trip towards the bottom of Murchison Falls. This water sport involves spotting hippos, crocodiles and water birds then you may hike to the top of the falls for breathtaking view of the falls as it squeezes itself into a narrow gorge of 7 meters. Dinner and a night stay at your respective lodge.

Day 3: Connect to Kibale Forest National Park

After a hefty breakfast, check out from your lodge then drive to Kibale Forest National Park. Your trip will cover about 7 hours and comes with en-route breathtaking view of landscape, rift valley escarpment and homesteads. Lunch stop will be at Fort Portal city then you proceed to Kibale Forest National Park to check in at your safari lodge.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking & Bigodi wetland nature walk

Have breakfast early in the morning and later, briefing on chimpanzee tracking rules will be conducted at Kanyanchu Visitor Centre. You will be accompanied by park guide to search for a habituated chimpanzee community in Kibale Forest. This may last for 2 to 4 hours inclusive of 1 hour of magical encounter and photo taking. You will then return to have lunch break and some relaxation.

In the afternoon, a nature walk will be your next trip activity and it will be at Bigodi wetland. While at this swamp, expect to identify lots of birds including papyrus gonoleks, great blue turaco; primates, mammals. Return to have dinner and overnight stay at your respective lodge.
