Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is situated in Southwestern Uganda, about 8-10 hours’ drive from Kampala. It was founded in 1991 to offer refuge to mountain gorillas and it occupies an area of 331 square kilometers. Today, Bwindi hosts not only mountain gorillas but also chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, L’Hoest monkeys, reptiles, elephants, 220 butterfly species, over 360 bird species, and many plant species.
Queen Elizabeth National Park lies in Western Uganda, about 6 hours’ drive depending on the route. It was established in 1952 and covers an area of about 1978sq.kms. Queen Elizabeth National Park is comprised of diverse wildlife species including the African bush elephants, leopards, lions, buffaloes, warthogs, and 620 bird species, hippos, crocodiles, Uganda Kobs and many more. Breakfast early in the morning and later, leave Kampala for Queen Elizabeth National Park in western Uganda. Depending on the route, spend about 6 hours in case you take the Kampala-Masaka-Mbarara route. You will make a stopover at the Equator for photography and relaxation. At Igongo cultural center, enjoy your lunch and then drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Enjoy your early morning breakfast and later, set off for a game drive along the Kasenyi Plains which may cover about 3-4 hours. At 2:00 pm, you will set off for the afternoon boat cruise which lets you see the Nile crocodiles, hippos, water birds. Return to relax, dine and spend a night.

Following breakfast, gather Bwindi park headquarters for a briefing on the set guidelines for gorilla trekking safety measures and to be allocated to a gorilla family. Because this adventure requires some physical wellness, ensure that you have some packed lunch/energy-giving snacks, bottled drinking water. Each gorilla permit is equivalent to one habituated family and every gorilla group is trekked by eight visitors. At 8:00 am, the park ranger guide will escort you plus trackers and your adventure may last for 2-6 hours including an hour of magical encounter, photography.
Return from gorilla trek to rest at the lodge and in the evening, take a walk to the Batwa Community for a cultural experience. Dine and spend a night in the previous lodge.
