Day 1: Transfer to a hotel in Kampala

Start your 10 days Uganda Kenya safari with a warm welcome from your safari leader upon your early arrival at Entebbe International Airport. Later after a quick briefing about your safari, drive to a hotel in Kampala.

Day 2: Travel from Kampala to Kibale Forest National Park

Your second day starts with an early morning breakfast and later, check out of the hotel ready to embark on 5 hours’ journey to Kibale Forest National Park in western Uganda. Drive through Mityana-Mubende Town to Fort Portal. Get to Kibale National Park early and have some rest then you will have an afternoon guided nature walk via the crater lakes around Kibale National Park.

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Leave your lodge after breakfast to catch up with 7:00 am a briefing on chimpanzee dos and don’ts at Kanyanchu Visitor Center. The actual chimpanzee trek begins at 8:00 am with park ranger guide and lasts for about 2 to 4 hours including one hour of magical encounter with chimpanzees. Your chimpanzee trek lets you also spot out a variety of other primate species, birds, butterflies, plants and many more. You will return to the lodge to check out then drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Drive via Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will have to see the tree-climbing lions and many other wildlife species at the Ishasha sector.

Day 4: Mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi and Batwa community visit

Set off from your lodge with some packed lunch and bottled drinking water to join other visitors for a briefing on guidelines for gorilla trekking at Buhoma, Rushaga, Nkuringo or Ruhija sector. Briefing also involves park officials assigning visitors a gorilla family to trek and Bwindi is composed of 20 habituated families, each of which provides a rare experience. At 8:00 am, you will begin a search for mountain gorillas with park ranger guide and this may cover about 2-6 hours and on finding them, only one hour is given for you to learn about their behaviors and take pictures. Later, you will return to relax and, in the evening, take a walk to Batwa community for you to interact and explore in-depth the unique lifestyles, dances, music performance, ancient hunting and gathering techniques of the Batwa pygmies.

Day 5: Transfer from Bwindi to Bwindi then fly to Nairobi

Check out of the lodge after breakfast and then connect to Kisoro/Kihihi airstrip for you to catch up with your flight to Entebbe International Airport. You will then fly from Entebbe to Jomo Kenyatta Airport. Meet your safari leader who then will transfer you to Lake Nakuru National Park about 3 hours’ drive.

Day 6: Whole day exploration in Lake Nakuru National Park
