Day 1: Travel from Kampala/Entebbe to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Rise up early to take your cup of tea or coffee and after, you will be picked up by your driver guide. Drive from your hotel/place of residence in Kampala via Masaka-Mbarara to Kisoro where you will connect to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Southwestern Uganda.
This will be 8-9 hours’ drive trip but it includes a stopover at Uganda Equator crossing for photography an exceptional moment you shouldn’t miss on Uganda safari. Igongo Cultural Centre will be your next point to make a stopover to have a delicious traditional meal then continue to Kisoro. Transfer from Kisoro to check in at your gorilla safari lodge in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
After breakfast, report to Ntebeko for briefing on rules about gorilla trekking which your main area of interest on Uganda safari in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Briefing starts at 7:00am by park official who also allocates you a park ranger guide to take you on a trek to view mountain gorilla in a group of 8 visitors starting at 8:00am.
Nyakagyezi group is the only gorilla family you will track in this park and you will spend about 2 to 6 hours searching for these great apes. When you locate mountain gorillas, you will be allowed one hour to strike your imaginations with these creatures, take photos and learn more about their behaviors.
Although a gorilla trek may take you long depending on your speed of hiking, it comes with incredible sight of other primates, birds and a lot more. Retreat from this remarkable primate adventure to chill at the lodge. Because it is unpredictable experience, ensure you have some packed lunch plus plenty of drinking water!
Day 2 of your 3 days Mgahinga gorilla trek tour also involves exploring the Batwa trail.
